AIMS

To provide

  • Knowledge and facilitate learning.
  • Information and education regarding different infections and strategies for the prevention and management of onward transmission.
  • Workshop opportunities to enhance learning, generate debate and undertake critical appraisal.
  • An overview of key IPC documentation and its implementation into practice.
  • To empower participants to act as role models and provide knowledge with which to drive IPC practices in their workplace.
  • To facilitate the implementation, maintenance and assurance of Infection Control Precautions and related principles of practice.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • To identify the regulatory frameworks and their application to providers of health and care
  • To understand and discuss the role and responsibilities of Lead/Link Professionals with regard to IPC service development and delivery and development of the role.
  • To discuss the implementation, maintenance and assurance of key practice issues in health and care settings.
  • To be able to reduce and manage the risk of transmission of infection within their environment of care
  • To have increased knowledge of latest information regarding infections of note and current hot topics
