New NHS Cleaning Implementation Package

The IPS cleaners management service will now focus on the NHS cleaning standards:

The NHS cleaning standards have several elements to them to be compliant. All sectors are expected to implement these NHS standards (2025) and there will be a different emphasis depending on the room and/or sector. IPS have launched this cleaning management package to meet this need and to assist clients in achieving rapid implementation also IPS will assist in the key external audit annually.

The first component is the delivery of the Cleaning Assurance Manual for your sector. This will include:

• Risk Assessment of each room or area
  Table of Elements performance parameters and cleaning frequencies
  Cleaning Responsibilities Framework

(Guidance on how to do this is set out in the Cleaning Assurance manual, sector specific, which will be sent out first with open files for adjustment)

The package will cover the following service provisions:

1. Functional Risk. IPS will send over an ‘Open file’ excel spreadsheet (sector specific) which will detail your rooms and the service within each room where IPS will determine the functional risk. (Floor plans will be needed)

2. A one day Zoom based training will be delivered throughout the next year which either your key staff running the cleaning side, or the lead cleaners themselves, can attend to better understand the implementation of the cleaning standards.

3. IPS will release access to the ‘technical cleaning audit on ICAT (audit app) – This is a monitoring tool to be used for your own assurance of cleaning standards and to assist in continuous improvement.

4. The first set of cleaning audits for the whole site will be undertaken by IPS and then the auditing software will be handed over for your own use. Demo’s will be shown live on the day of the actual audits.

5. cleaning schedules will be looked at to match them to the Cleaning Assurance Manual. (Documents in excel or Word preferred.)

6. Optional: A three and half hour cleaners training specially for your cleaners on-site an additional £450.00 is added. This will be a live training on a day there are scheduled to work. Late evenings and early mornings are acceptable. The trainer will clean with the cleaner showing the cleaner techniques and how to clean properly and effectively using the right products.
